ABOUT ME

I am a literary agent representing literary, reading group and genre fiction authors for Aevitas Creative Management, a US-UK literary agency. I am based in London but hail originally from Waterford, Ireland. I have twenty years’ experience in the world of publishing, having worked with a host of major brand names in fiction ranging from crime writer Minette Walters to bestselling women’s fiction author Elizabeth Buchan, and thriller writer Catherine Ryan Howard.

I was the UK editor for Kevin Kwan’s international bestseller, Crazy Rich Asians along with Robert Ludlum’s hugely successful Bourne series. I acquired and published the bestselling cult hit Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell which spent six weeks at the top of the New York Times bestseller list.

I have a particular passion for Irish writing and currently represent rising stars in Irish fiction: Catherine Ryan Howard, Sinead Crowley, Amy Jordan, Rachel Donohue, Eithne Shortall, Siobhan MacGowan, Christine Anne Foley and Serena Molloy. I enjoy the process of working with authors on their ideas, honing their craft and turning their creativity and talent into commercial success. I am passionate about storytelling, with particular interest in upmarket genre, reading group and accessibly literary fiction. I enjoy working closely with writers, helping to shape and develop their work and advocating on their behalf. I have a very deep network of contacts in the publishing industry, built over a long career, and seek to use that knowledge to give my clients the best possible publishing journey.

I am excited to hear from fiction authors of all backgrounds and levels of experience. I love powerful, page-turning stories and I’m drawn to unique voices. It would be a pleasure to read your work.

WHAT I OFFER

As a literary agent my role is to represent and support authors. This means working with them to ensure their work has the best chance of achieving commercial success and to negotiate the best deal for them. As an experienced editor and publisher, I like to work creatively with my clients to develop their writing as much as possible before submission to publishers. You only get one shot at the submission process! I work hard to make sure that publishers see the best possible version of your novel, ensuring you have the greatest chance of success.

Then the fun part begins; negotiating a great deal for you and your book! But that’s just the start of the journey. As your novel begins its path through the publishing process, I will be there to help support and guide you throughout. Publishing can often feel like an intimidating and baffling world to the uninitiated. Having someone in your corner with real knowledge and expertise can make all the difference.

At ACM, I am fortunate to have the backing of a large and expert team of specialists, selling audio, serial and translation rights. We also have a fantastic TV and Film Department focussed on developing Aevitas manuscripts for film, TV, and streaming content rights on both sides of the Atlantic and in Hollywood. You will have the backing of a large and highly successful agency with all the contacts and individual expertise such an organisation can bring.
